John W. Moore (1859 – 1925) “The Very Rev. Dr. John W. Moore, for twenty years president of St. John’s College, Brooklyn, and at one time assistant pastor at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Baltimore, died yesterday morning at St. Agnes’ Hospital. Dr. Moore, who was well known as an educator, was operated upon at the hospital May 5.
Born at Cape Girardaeu, Mo., 66 years ago, Dr. Moore was educated at St. Vincent’s Seminary, Germantown, Pa., where he was ordained. In Brooklyn he also was president of the Diocesan Seminary and pastor of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.”
