Notes / Sources | Known from direct communication with Margaret Hoversten. “Estil's parents Elmer and Viola Hoversten were the owners of the Hoversten Furniture Store on Main Street in Ames for 52 years. Christian Petersen created the sculpture of Estil in trade for some of the store's furniture. The sculpture stayed in their home on Duff Avenue for as long as they lived. Estil and I took the statue to our home in Del Mar, California in around 1990 after both of his parents were deceased.” Estil passed away in 2021. |
