Michael Carey (b. 1954) is a native of New York City who received his graduate degree from the University of Iowa’s Iowa Writers Workshop. Carey’s poems have appeared in many publications, including the Wall Street Journal. He continues to write poetry on his family farm near Shenandoah, Iowa, much of it about the heart and soul of life in the rural Midwest.
