manipulated patina on steel

on loan from the artist

The image of a crow appears throughout Stancliffe’s body of work, often as an observer of the surrounding environment, bringing about change or movement through the pulling of branches or its collecting of objects. In this sculpture the crow is obscured by bright soundwaves and encased by a cornice piece of built, human environments. What invisible forces are we filling the atmosphere with, radio signals, cell towers, information traveling via waves, and does the crow notice this flow of information through the air?
