Jim Coppoc (b.1975) is an Iowa-based poet and songwriter, and full-time musician at the Iowa Veteran's Home. Coppoc taught English and American Indian Studies at Iowa State University and was a founding member of poetry and spoken word in Chatham University's low-residency MFA in Writing program. In addition to his history in spoken word and musical stages, he has also gotten attention from the literary world, with four Pushcart nominations in 2011. Coppoc is also an award-winning theologian and a small-town lay minister on weekends in Central Iowa, where he currently resides.
