The artist created this abstraction of blues and grays resembling an aerial topographic map of Earth. By overlaying the canvas with jute in a grid formation, she conjures associations with geological, archaeological, and artistic survey methods.
The vertical and horizontal lines suggest longitude and latitude. Is this an invitation to find our way? The imagery before us is drawn from Bart’s imagination, rather than observation of any physical place or phenomena. The paths Bart offers are via personal and creative ways of search.
