Crocheted in linen, Ascension is a major artwork from Bart’s early career in textiles. This archetypical cape is imagined by Bart to hold the ability to transfer its power to the wearer. The piece’s wide span and long tassels of black linen call to mind a bird and the upward motion of flight.
