Body Image Conflict: From Hostility to Harmony

The International Council of Museums has recently updated their definition of a museum and it now begins, “Museums are democratizing, inclusive and polyphonic spaces for critical dialogue about the pasts and the futures.”  With this sentiment in mind, the reACT Exhibition Series offers faculty and professional and scientific staff of Iowa State the opportunity to act as guest curators for exhibitions that focus on current events that are relevant to the University community. These exhibitions offer a space for all to have safe and respectful dialogue. Works of art from the permanent collection are brought together in unique ways to facilitate conversation, provoke ideas and consider different perspectives.
